Beer-Golf.com rocks Tiger's Buick Scramble
Team Beer-Golf.com California overcame a two stroke first round deficit by unleashing a final round birdie barrage and capturing the Cameron Park Buick Scramble Qualifier today. The team will advance to regional competition in August with hopes of reaching the national finals later this year.
The team of Barry Babij, John Janus, Dave Dodds & L Steve Brown rattled off seven consecutive mid-round birdies on their way to carding eleven birdies in the final round. The team successfully melded Double B's steady play, JJ's booming drives, Doddsie's hot putter and L Steve's substantial handicap. The -11 performance combined with their first round -8 and -7 handicap strokes catapulted the team from fifth at the midway point to capturing the net division title two strokes clear at -26.
Buick Scramble National Chairman Tiger Woods was unavailable for comment.
